We recommend enjoying the full day of festivities by catching the 1:30PM ferry with other invaders from the Saville Ferry Service to Fire Island Pines.

Typically under 2 hours of travel, there are 4 ways to get to there:

1. SPLIT A LYFT

   Take a Lyft from NYC to the Sayville Ferry Service at 41 River Road, Sayville, NY 11782. 

   Add an additional hour to your travel time. Ferries start boarding early (15-20 minutes ahead) and traffic varies unpredictably on weekends.

   Get roundtrip tickets ($20) right when you arrive at the ferry service to the Pines — not Cherry Grove! When boarding starts, they don’t allow card transactions and the ATM inside has a hefty fee. 

2. CARPOOL

   Drive to the Sayville Ferry Service at 41 River Road, Sayville, NY 11782. Park your car across the street for $24/day. 

   Add an additional hour to your travel time. Ferries start boarding early (15-20 minutes ahead) and traffic varies unpredictably on weekends.

   Get roundtrip tickets ($20) right when you arrive at the ferry service to the Pines — not Cherry Grove! When boarding starts, they don’t allow card transactions and the ATM inside has a hefty fee. 

3. TAKE THE LIRR

   Download the MTA app and find train times to Sayville from your nearby LIRR station (like Jamaica, Atlantic, or Grand Central).  

   Buy roundtrip tickets in the app, or arrive at the station early to purchase at an LIRR kiosk or info desk.

   Many trains to Sayville have a very quick transfer, usually at Babylon station. Stay alert on your train so you don’t miss the transfer, and look for other gays/Invaders when in doubt.

   At Sayville, follow the crowd to the shuttle buses which immediately drive you a few minutes to the ferry service for $6 — cash only.

4. TAKE THE DOLL BUS

   Our free buses take Invaders roundtrip from Atlantic Terminal to a free ferry at the Sayville ferry service. 

   The Saturday bus program is full, but join the waitlist as many will be bumped up in the days before.

This year, Doll Invasion is a “Total Tea Takeover” taking place across three different venues right on the harbor in the Pines.

When you get off the boat, head you’ll see signs for “Doll Check-in” where you’ll pick up wristbands, a map of the area, and doll merch!

• “High Tea” at Pavilion (4-10PM)

• “Middle Tea” at Tryst Pool Club (2-10PM)

• “Low Tea” at Blue Whale (4-8PM)

Everyone who plans to attend Doll Invasion must register on RA.co.

Registration is free for trans people.

Everyone is encouraged to buy tickets, which offer unique sponsor pricing for those that want to chip more into the fundraiser.

Doll Invasion does not recommend housing on Fire Island.

Doll Invasion’s schedule is designed for day trips, so you can come out to the island early with friends, enjoy your day, and return on the last ferry without missing anything. This is because the Pines is a resort town with highly inaccessible week-long rentals booked far in advance.

Some invaders stay at hotels near Sayville which are less cute but more accessible.
